Yes, the list is a reason that attracts all running beings, but makes running especially suited for those in recovery, and, as you said, is why running is so addictive. I think a lot of competitive runners have "addictive personalities" (if there is such a thing, I guess - I don't know a lot about the topic), so running serves as a substitute for the less wholesome potential addictions. As a runner myself, I've never done any exercise that gives me the same feeling that I can get from a run. I love your reasons to turn to running, but this one jumps out at me - "Keeping an edge and being a bad-ass."<br /><br />Here's a quote to add about running - “Running, perhaps because it is our most basic solitary survival activity, produces the non-self–critical state more effectively that any other practice.” – William Glasser <br /><br />Thank you for sharing your love of running.Cathy Taughinbaughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15833583122196520782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5338983676955927105.post-20395207801709546212012-09-23T15:28:51.713-04:002012-09-23T15:28:51.713-04:00This is fabulous! It takes going thru a lot of self-analysis to become that attuned to correctly addressing the way ourselves and so many other people act and do what they do...the deeper issues and such.Cait the Arty Runnerchickhttp://caitchock.com/noreply@blogger.com
